Shawna Wagner, Vice President and General Manager for Certification Services at AIB International, brings over 20 years of extensive experience in the food industry, particularly in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Her career began with a focus on meat processing and slaughter facilities, where she developed a strong foundation in HACCP, sanitation practices, and regulatory standards.
Throughout her professional journey, Shawna has served in critical roles across the industry, including food safety leadership positions where she led internal audits, managed labeling compliance, and oversaw environmental swabbing and recall processes. She has also gained valuable expertise as a Lead Auditor in high-risk food safety and animal welfare certifications, further enhancing her skills in conducting complex audits and technical reviews.Shawna’s extensive GFSI experience and her specialized training in food safety regulations, animal welfare, and incident command systems positions her as a hands-on, knowledgeable leader for our food safety certification initiatives. Her academic credentials, including a Master of Laws in Global Food Law and a B.S. in Biology, further bolster her in-depth knowledge of the legal and scientific dimensions of food safety.
Since joining AIB International in October 2021, Shawna has achieved impressive results in our SQF business and made substantial contributions to training and developing our certifications managers and auditing staff. With her expertise and commitment, Shawna is a pivotal leader for our Certification Services team, guiding us with precision and integrity as we strive for new milestones in 2025 and beyond.
