Inquire About Private Training?

Get private food safety training that’s customized and cost-effective, delivered virtually or at a location convenient to you.

The FDA’s Intentional Adulteration Rule is aimed at preventing intentional adulteration that can cause wide-scale harm to public health, such as acts of terrorism targeting the food supply. This rule requires that certain activities be completed by a “food defense qualified individual,” someone who has successfully completed training in conducting a vulnerability assessment. Upon successful completion of this two-day course, you will be recognized by the FDA as meeting that requirement.

After completing this course, you will know how to:

  • Recognize the importance of food defense
  • Understand vulnerability assessment preliminary steps
  • Identify inherent characteristics
  • Summarize the importance of considering an inside attacker during a vulnerability assessment
  • Calculate potential public health impact
  • Evaluate degree of physical access to the product and the ability of an attacker to successfully contaminate the product
  • Analyze vulnerability assessment data
  • Apply the hybrid approach
  • Webcam & Microphone Requirement: Please note, the class will be interactive. You will be required to have a webcam, microphone, and speakers to participate in this training and get credit for the class.
  • ID Requirement: For this course, FSPCA requires we check IDs for attendance verification. Please ensure you have a valid photo ID at the training. You will be asked to share it with us in a private setting.
  • Attendance Requirement: FSPCA requires 100% attendance. If this requirement is not met due to late arrival, absence in class sessions (including not being present on video), or early departure, you will not receive a completion document.

You are required to complete the FSPCA course evaluation within 72 hours of completing the training, and FSPCA will issue your certificate afterward.

Educational and Engaging

“Instructor had vast knowledge and experience and responded to questions with concise information and with additional supporting guidelines (e.g., website links to FDA code, FDA mitigation strategies database). I like the fact they made all of us engage and participate in the training through questions and participation in the exercises. Good examples provided by auditors and very applicable to the industry. Really enjoyed this training!”
