Certification

FSSC is often a good fit for companies that want more flexibility, as it is a risk-based food safety management system. With the ISO 22000 framework, FSSC 22000 allows the integration of your food safety management system with other risk- based management systems such as Quality, Environment or Health and Safety.

FSSC audits are also good for companies who want to review their written programs first to see if they are ready for full audit because they are divided into two separate audit phases: documentation and facility. Companies can make corrections between the two audit phases, without impacting their final score, which can save money in the long run.

We have auditors competent in the following product categories:

  • Perishable animal products
  • Eggs, dairy, ready meals
  • Perishable vegetable products
  • Fruits, vegetables, nuts
  • Products with a long shelf-life at ambient temperature
  • Canned products, beverages, alcoholic drinks/fermented/brewed products, bakery products, dried foods and ingredients, confectionery, cereals, snacks, oils, and fats
  • (Bio) chemical manufacturing
  • Additives
  • Packaging material manufacturing
  • Printing, paper, plastic, metal, glass

We maintain accreditation based on scheme owner’s requirements. The issued certificate confirms that the organization’s food safety management system is in conformance with scheme requirements and that the organization can maintain compliance with these requirements.

Based on ISO Standards

FSSC 22000 contains a complete certification scheme for food safety systems based on existing ISO standards:

  • Food safety management standard ISO 22000: 2005 “Requirements for any organization in the food chain”
  • Prerequisite programs on food safety for food manufacturing: ISO/TS 22002-1

Food manufacturers that are already certified against ISO 22000 they can upgrade their certification to FSSC 22000 v 5.1 by including in their assessment the relevant ISO.TS 22002-x standard and FSSC Additional Requirements in line with GFSI expectations.
