Starting a Food Safety System
Each of the five courses takes approximately 30 minutes to complete, broken into short 5-to-10-minute segments. At the end of each course, you must complete an evaluation quiz. Passing the quiz verifies your understanding and triggers a printable certificate of completion for that specific module.
If you do not pass a quiz, you can review the course material and retake the evaluation.
The program is entirely self-paced, allowing you to complete the modules in whatever order best fits your schedule. Although there is no required order to complete the course, we do recommend completing them in the following order:
- Food Contamination Basics
- Starting a Food Safety System
- Developing a Food Safety Plan
- Supply and Vendor Management
- Effective Communications in Food Safety Teams
To earn the free comprehensive program badge, the system must register successful quiz completions for all five distinct courses, regardless of the order they were completed.
Once our system verifies that you have successfully completed all five courses and passed their respective quizzes, your achievement will be processed. You will receive an automated email notification from Credly (admin@credly.com) with instructions to claim your badge.
If you already have a Credly account registered under that email, the badge will automatically appear in your dashboard pending acceptance.
Please allow up to 2 to 3 business days after passing your final module's quiz for the Credly email notification to arrive. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder if you don't see it in your inbox.
You must use a consistent, individual email address across all five courses. Because badges are issued based on your email identifier, using different emails across modules will prevent the system from recognizing that you completed the full program.
A digital badge is a secure, verified web-based version of your credential. Unlike a traditional paper certificate, a Credly badge contains metadata that explains exactly what skills you learned and how you earned it. It is a highly portable way to prove your credibility and commitment to food safety culture.
You can easily share your badge directly from the Credly platform to:
- LinkedIn: Display it permanently in your profile's "Licenses & Certifications" section or share it as a post to your network.
- Email Signatures: Embed your badge into your professional email signature to showcase your credentials to clients and colleagues.
- Resumes & Portfolios: Include a hyperlink to your public Credly badge page so hiring managers can verify your training instantly.
If it has been more than 48 hours since you successfully passed your fifth quiz and you have already checked your spam folder, please reach out to info@foodsafetyeducation.org with your account details so we can verify your module completions and manually reissue your badge.
No, your badge will not expire after a set period of time.
